Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all plumbing, drainage, gas fitting, leak detection, maintenance, repair, installation, and related services provided by MPJ Plumbing Group Pty Ltd (“MPJ Plumbing”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By accepting a quote, booking a service, or allowing works to proceed, you (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.


1. Scope of Services

MPJ Plumbing provides plumbing and related services including, but not limited to:

  • Plumbing maintenance and repairs

  • Blocked drains and sewer works

  • Leak detection

  • Gas fitting and gas appliance services

  • Hot water systems

  • Stormwater and sewer works

  • Excavation, reinstatement, and associated works

All works are carried out in accordance with applicable Australian Standards and NSW regulations.


2. Quotes & Estimates

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

  • Quotes are based on visible and accessible conditions at the time of inspection.

  • Where unforeseen issues arise, additional works may be required and will be charged as a variation.

  • Estimates are not fixed prices and may change depending on site conditions.


3. Variations & Additional Works

  • If additional works are required due to hidden defects, non-compliant installations, access limitations, or unforeseen conditions, MPJ Plumbing reserves the right to proceed where urgent or necessary.

  • All variations will be charged at standard rates unless otherwise agreed.


4. Call-Out Fees & Minimum Charges

  • A call-out fee and/or minimum labour charge may apply.

  • Fees cover travel, assessment, and initial attendance.

  • Call-out fees are non-refundable once a technician has been dispatched.


5. Emergency & After-Hours Works

  • After-hours, weekend, public holiday, and emergency works attract higher rates.

  • Emergency works may proceed without a formal written quote where immediate action is required to prevent damage, danger, or service disruption.


6. Access & Site Conditions

The Client must:

  • Provide clear, safe, and unrestricted access to the work area

  • Ensure utilities can be isolated where required

  • Remove or protect personal items, furniture, and finishes

MPJ Plumbing is not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by restricted access, unsafe conditions, or third-party interference.


7. Underground Services & DBYD

  • All underground services are assumed to be accurately marked based on Dial Before You Dig information and available drawings.

  • MPJ Plumbing is not responsible for damage to unmarked, inaccurately marked, or unknown services.

  • Excavation is undertaken at the Client’s risk where service locations cannot be verified.


8. Existing Defects & Non-Compliant Installations

  • MPJ Plumbing is not responsible for failures caused by existing defects, corrosion, aging infrastructure, tree roots, ground movement, or previous non-compliant works.

  • Repairs are limited to the scope of works agreed.


9. Materials & Ownership

  • All materials supplied remain the property of MPJ Plumbing until full payment is received.

  • Materials removed from site become MPJ Plumbing’s property unless otherwise agreed.


10. Warranties

  • Workmanship is warranted in accordance with NSW Fair Trading requirements.

  • Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied fixtures and equipment.

  • Warranties do not cover misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, or third-party alterations.


11. Compliance

All works are carried out in accordance with:

  • AS3500 Plumbing & Drainage Standards

  • AS5601 Gas Installations

  • NSW Fair Trading and relevant council requirements

Certificates of Compliance will be issued where legally required.


12. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Invoices must be paid within the stated payment terms.

  • MPJ Plumbing reserves the right to suspend works for non-payment.

  • Overdue accounts may incur interest and recovery costs.


13. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Cancellations with insufficient notice may incur a fee.

  • Missed appointments may be charged a call-out fee.

  • Rescheduling is subject to availability.


14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • MPJ Plumbing is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

  • Liability is limited to the cost of the works performed.

  • We are not responsible for damage to concealed services, brittle materials, or aged infrastructure.


15. Force Majeure

MPJ Plumbing is not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including weather, access restrictions, supplier delays, or utility shutdowns.


16. Dispute Resolution

  • Any dispute must first be addressed in good faith between the parties.

  • If unresolved, disputes may be referred to mediation or NSW Fair Trading.


17. Privacy

MPJ Plumbing handles personal information in accordance with Australian Privacy Laws. Information is used solely for service delivery, billing, and communication.


18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.


19. Acceptance

Proceeding with works, accepting a quote, or allowing site attendance constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
