Why choose Rinnai for your hot water system in Sydney?

Rinnai enjoys a reputation for producing highly efficient, reliable hot water systems with the company’s first offering launching in the early 1990s.

An industry leader, Rinnai was the first to release a fully electronic gas continuous flow hot water system in Australia, capable of handling the country’s unique challenges and meeting consumer demand. The system was the first to allow Australian homes to enjoy an uninterrupted supply of hot water with Rinnai continuing to innovate ever since.

Today, Rinnai remains at the forefront of hot water, heating, and cooling innovation. The key benefits of Rinnai’s hot water solutions include

  • High-efficiency: Rinnai systems are designed to waste no energy, heating water on demand and shutting down when not in use.
  • Continuous hot water: Rinnai offers hot water systems that heat water on demand. This means water is heated as and when you need it with no interruptions to your supply.
  • Precision heating: No more guesswork; Rinnai systems allow the water temperature to be precisely set using digital controllers that regulate heating accurately.
  • Cost-savings: Rinnai’s range of systems each comes with different cost-saving measures, including the use of renewable energy.
  • Built to last: Rinnai’s systems are designed to last up to twenty years or more, making them excellent value for money.

Rinnai's Range of Hot Water Solutions

With three decades of experience producing hot water systems for the Australian market, Rinnai has solutions for every household and business. Leveraging different water delivery systems and energy sources, Rinnai’s solutions include

Rinnai Electric Hot Water Systems

Rinnai’s electric hot water systems use mains powered to heat water for domestic as well as commercial purposes. These electricity-powered hot water come in two configurations, with instantaneous and storage solutions on offer.

Rinnai Gas Hot Water Systems

Rinnai’s gas-powered water heaters use LPG or natural gas to power a burner that either heats water on demand via a continuous flow system or heats water ahead of time with a storage solution.

Most gas hot water systems will require a mains supply of gas in order to be installed, with select products compatible with LPG cylinders.

Rinnai Instant Hot Water Systems

Removing the need for a tank, instant hot water systems deliver water at your pre-set temperature on demand. Rinnai’s instant hot water products channel water through a heat exchanger at a rate of 10-32 litres per minute before arriving at your tap. This provides a continuous, uninterrupted supply of hot water at a rate suitable for most households.

Rinnai Solar Hot Water System

With a focus on efficiency, Rinnai also has on offer some products that make use of renewable energy. Making good use of the sun’s ample, free energy, Rinnai’s solar hot water systems see solar panels absorb heat using panels and tubes. This is then used to heat water collected in a storage cylinder.

Prestige Systems - Solar Hot Water System

Rinnai’s Prestige range of Solar Hot Water systems have been designed with energy efficiency in mind. They optimize electricity consumption, minimize running costs, and reduce your household’s overall environmental impact by more than 65%.

There are three types of Prestige systems available:

Close-Coupled System

Close-coupled systems connect a storage tank to solar collectors to heat water using renewable energy. Rinnai’s systems use Excelsior solar collectors that leverage European selective surface technology with stainless steel storage tanks with no moving parts. Collectors and tanks cannot be installed separately.

Evacuated Tube System

Offering the most efficient solar option available, Rinnai’s evacuated tube systems consist of a ground-mounted storage tank connected to tubes mounted on the roof of a property. Water is then pumped through the tubes to absorb solar energy and stored in a stainless steel tank. Evacuated tube systems are available in 20, 25, and 30 tube configurations and are frost tolerant to as low as -12°C. Collectors and tanks can be installed separately.

Flat Plate System

Similar to the Evacuated Tube system, the Flat Plate Prestige system has water pass through a slimline collector installed on a roof to heat water using solar energy. Flat plates work best in warmer locations and when roof aesthetics are of concern. Collectors and tanks can be installed separately.

Sunmaster - Solar hot water system

Designed to maximise the sun’s free energy, the Sunmaster solar range of hot water systems can be integrated into any home. Choose from these 3 types of solar hot water units; close-coupled systems, evacuated tube systems, and flat plate systems.

Harnessing the sun’s free energy, the Sunmaster solar hot water system range lowers the carbon footprint of your property, and reduces monthly bills. The Sunmaster range is available in a close-coupled, evacuated tube, and flat plate configurations.

Sunmaster Rinnai - Solar hot water system

Solar Gas Booster

MPJ Plumbing can also install solar gas boosters to ensure your hot water supply is never interrupted. These help maintain a consistent flow of hot water on cloudy, overcast days, and during the winter months. Rinnai’s range of solar gas boosters are designed to integrate seamlessly with its range of solar hot water systems.

Benefits of Solar Gas Boosters

Solar gas boosters provide several key benefits, including:

  • Cost savings: Solar hot water systems harness the sun’s power to produce free energy. Leveraging this energy with a Rinnai solar hot water system can halve monthly energy bills and pay for themselves in as little as six years. Solar gas boosters help increase the efficiency of solar hot water systems and offer similar energy ratings as electric-powered options.
  • Year-round hot water: While the solar collectors in Rinnai’s hot water systems can function in even overcast conditions, solar gas boosters work in conjunction with solar energy to meet demand. In winter months when solar energy is at its lowest, a solar gas booster provides the peace of mind that you will not be without hot water.
  • Environmentally friendly: While a solar gas booster involves the burning of fossil fuel, they enable solar solutions to be utilised in more properties than would be otherwise. This means an overall net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Frequently Asked Questions

The main difference between Rinnai’s Prestige and Sunmaster solar hot water system ranges involves the cost of investment, tank quality, and the length of warranties provided. Both ranges harness renewable solar energy to heat hot water with the Prestige line-up considered the more premium product range.
The Energy Star Rating system was devised in 1992 to indicate the energy efficiency of products used for both domestic and commercial purposes. Energy Star Ratings are relative to the product type and are an indication that products meet strict energy efficiency metrics.
Thanks to Rinnai’s use of Enduro collectors, aluminium fin solar absorbers and European selective surface collectors, solar gain can be enjoyed even in Winter. Solar gain will typically provide up to 100% of the energy necessary for your hot water during the summer months, with this number dropping to a minimum of around 25% in winter.
