Our process is straightforward and non-invasive. An MPJ plumber will insert a specialised drain camera into an access point like a drain opening or inspection hatch. The camera is affixed to a flexible cable that we feed through the pipe, and it transmits real-time video to a monitor we watch from above ground. As the camera travels through your drains:

• We inspect the pipe’s interior for any blockages, such as accumulated grease, foreign objects, or collapsed sections restricting flow.
• We look for signs of damage: cracks, holes, root intrusion, or misaligned pipe joints. These issues might not yet be causing a full blockage but could lead to leaks or future clogs.
• We check overall condition, : Is the pipe corroding or deteriorating? Is there significant scale buildup? We note anything affecting the long-term health of the line.

Throughout the inspection, we can capture video or still images of important findings. If you wish, we’ll gladly show you live footage of the inside of your pipes and explain what you’re seeing. Once the inspection is complete, we provide you with a summary report of what’s been found. Often, we’ll also recommend solutions on the spot – for instance, if we see tree roots, we might suggest a hydro-jetting followed by pipe relining relining. If we find a lost item (like jewelry or other objects accidentally washed down), we can often retrieve it using the camera and attachments. The entire CCTV inspection is typically completed within an hour or two, depending on the length of pipe to inspect.
